My husband brings my kids home from their visitation in a mess - no socks on (on a freezing day), no diaper changed so that the baby's skin is in terrible shape, no consideration for their needs for food or sleep. It takes us days to recover from each visit. The kids (5 and 2) are wrecked when they come home. Of course, there is nothing I can do about it. But I think there should be a mandatory course for fathers who will be looking after kids on their own. When I was married to this guy, I just picked up the slack, making sure the kids were looked after. I think this is what all mom's do. And I'm not saying he's evil or anything, I just think he is a regular guy who is clueless about the needs of small children. That's fine as long as there is a woman around. But guys on their own are dangerous to a child's well-being. Shouldn't someone be advocating for the protection of children?
