| Losing a significant amount of weight is only one symptom of anorexia. Look out for other symptoms like limiting herself to a very small selection of no-fat foods; taking very small servings and cutting the food up into tiny little pieces and then pushing those pieces around the plate; wearing bagging clothing to hide skinny bones; spending a lot of time in the bathroom after meals, exercising excessively; changes in her hair and skin; complaining frequently about being fat; dizziness or fainting; swollen glands; complaints of being cold. If you are concerned, be up front about this with your daughter. Tell her that neither you nor your husband can do diagnosis Since you want to ensure that there is no problem you want to arrange to go with her to a medical professional for an assessment. There is no reason for her to object: if she doesn't have a problem the doctor won't diagnose one. Sarah Chana
