| When was the baby born? If you are describing his reaction to a baby that was born this past month then the prognosis is great: in a matter of some weeks he'll get used to the new routine, the new family member and whatever else has changed. The house will be calmer with less guests coming and going. He will find his place again and the only thing you really have to do is wait. If however, the baby was born six months ago, then he may be having other problems besides adjusting to a sibling. If he's in nursery, you should get a detailed report from the school about what stresses he may be experiencing there. Take him to the docitor for a phsyical checkup. If there is nothing that obviously needs addressing in his environment, then you might consult a Bach Flower Practitioner - someone who can treat him with harmless flower essence remedies that can help settle moods and emotions and calm the body. Or your naturopath might have another idea. If he isn't yet in a playgroup, you might sign him up for one - the social stimulation might be very good for him. Make sure that you are giving him plenty of attention and that the baby isn't hoarding all of the love and affection. Sarah Chana
