I have 3 kids - 5, 7 & 10 years old. My 7 year old has a birthday coming up next week and it's also the time of year to give them their seasonal gifts. The trouble is, I don't think any of them deserve anything right now and I don't know what to do. They talk back, don't listen, fight with each other and with me and I'm just disgusted by it all. How can I sincerely make a party, give them expensive presents and all the rest? But I worry about the damage it might cause them if I just tell them they're not getting anything this year. Does anyone else have this problem? Or a solution?
