my nearly 3 yr old son has been toilet trained for about 5 mos now. he still refuses to go to the bathroom by himself. he wants me to lower his pants and pick them up for him when he's done. there are times when he asks me to sit in the bathroom w/ him.
question is how long do I let this continue for.
how do I encourage him to do these things by himself?
it especially bothers me that he won't put on his underwear and instead he'll just sit there "playing" with himself. I know that that's normal behavior but how much of it is normal?
another thing is letting him make outside.
on the one hand I don't want him to have an accident and on the other I feel like he's taking advantage of me and waiting until we get outside in order to make (number 1 never a bm)
I always have him go the the bathroom before we leave the house and still he'll want to make outside.
any ideas?
