| Parenting can be very draining and thankless even when we love our kids. It's important to always have somthing in your life JUST FOR YOU. You need your own pot of joy. For some, it will be a romantic relationship (yes, even in marriage!). For some, it will be a passion in the form of work, hobbies, interests or talents. For some it will be exercise, a woman's group, a political or religious endeavor, community work - whatever, it has to be something that you can enjoy a little every day (not once a year). It could be more than one of the things listed or any other driving force, but it has to be something. If you are too depressed to even search out an interest, then it is possible that you have some form of depression that needs medical/psychological care. Once taken care of, you will still need to find something for yourself. Parenting requires constant withdrawal of energies; you MUST make regular deposits or soon you will be "bankrupt." Sarah Chana

| Join a mother's support group or a yoga group. These helped me a lot.

| Spend more time with friends. We all need social support and are much happier when we get it.

| Try Bach Flower Remedies. They can get you up and running again. Once that is done, then you can look for other outlets to make your life more personally satisfying. You can find the remedies by looking on-line for descriptions of the Bach Flowers (look up the Bach Flower Institute in England).
