Exposing a toddler to the computer for a few minutes a day may not be any more harmful than letting the child watch a small amount of television or play with electronic toys. The question is not "whether to" but really, "how much to." Computers are part of modern life, like telephones and cars. This is the world you brought your child into. However, anything done in excess can be harmful. You want your toddler playing with clay, building with blocks, having little friends over and so on. As long as the computer is a minimal part of her day, I don't think it is harmful.
