It is generally okay to start yogurt around the age of 9 months. Some doctors give the okay earlier, so you may want to consult with your child's pediatrician. I recommend starting babies with plain yogurt. There are special baby yogurts available and these are okay, but they do have sugar. If your baby is willing to eat plain yogurt, there is no reason to get her used to the taste of the sweetened version. Plain yogurt can be jazzed up with fresh fruit (for a younger baby, puree the fruit first). Babies younger than two need adequate amounts of fat in their diets so don't pick a low-fat yogurt for your baby.
