My kid is the same - I think it's just fatigue and once I feed him a little he's good for another hour and then I get him into bath and bed and we're done. I think little kids just get wired at night. I bet yours isn't napping in the daytime because mine starting becoming crazy in the evening when he stopped napping. They'll outgrow this - at least that's what my mother tells me!
