| Of course some kids are more emotional than others but I would want to help an 11 year old who cries too frequently. Sometimes there is something else bothering the child and so counseling was a wise choice on your part. Sometimes there are chemical mood issues. I always prefer to give Bach Flower Therapy before antidepressants for children and teens (and adults too!). So often the Bach Flowers have a fast and positive result. You can find out about them at www.bachflower.com and/or look for a practitioner. There are behavioral interventions that can help excessive crying also, but you can ask your counselor about this. You should continue seeking help until the crying stops because it is not really healthy for a child that age to cry frequently. Sarah Chana
