My son has come home from college for the summer. He's been here a week and he seems to think he is in some sort of hotel. He walks in and out at all hours, never announcing his comings and goings. I don't know whether to have dinner ready for him or not bother making him anything. His clothes are in the hamper (I guess he thinks I'm supposed to wash them and put them away for him) and he uses all of the "extras" in our house as if they are his - the computer, the car, whatever. I know he's more independent now from living away from home but I want to let him know that when he comes home he's back in a family situation and there are certain obligations that go with this. On the other hand, I don't want to get his back up - our relationship is touchy at the best of times. Is there a good way to break the news?
