My 2 yr old Taylor likes to squeeze pinch and poke our newborn. I don't want to tell him to stay away because I'm afraid to make him jealous of the baby but I can't let him hurt the baby. When I tell him to be gentle he just pokes harder.
I had that problem. I held my toddler's hand when he wanted to touch the baby. I would make him pat the baby gently over and over again and after a few weeks he could do it that way himself.
