Parents also need strategies for working as a team – within the structure of marriage or divorce. However, men and women are not the same when it comes to parenting (or anything else!) How can you do it differently without fighting? How can you strengthen a marriage as you raise children? If you’re a single parent, how do you manage your social life, new relationships and remarriage? How do you deal with your ex-spouse? How do you manage your “re-organized family?”
Parents are individuals with their own issues: unfinished business with their own parents (the grandparents), illness in the family or their own illness, trouble with siblings and in-laws, money problems, depression, anxiety disorders, weight issues, unemployment and all the rest of life that happens. Parenting and personal stress can be a problematic pair. Parents need strategies for managing their own stress levels so they can parent in a healthy manner. How does one hold it all together?
